Lee is possibly the only professor of philosophy to do field work since Aristotle. He walks his talk with substantive warrant for his claims and prudently mitigates conjectures yet to be investigated. I have read several of his books and each one provides a different perspective on the over-arching issue: the deterioration of logical inference. I had never heard of Lee McIntyre, let alone the philosophy of science until I read his previous book The Scientific Attitude, and I fell in love with his writing and way he discusses these topics. As I write this review, we’re getting towards the end of the COVID pandemic, but there are still far too many people who refuse to get vaccinated because they deny science. Science denial is one of the biggest issues we face today, and you can tell that Lee is passionate about figuring out how we can better talk to people who deny science. I lean more Libertarian (conservative) now. I will say, I don't think I Denied science, just dis not know the details of the issues at hand. Of course, I am NOT Anti-vax or anything. After having studied climate change, particularly in regards to what the industrialized farming and fishing and slaughter houses are doing to the environment, that is a major problem, one that no one seems to want to deal with. Over all, I enjoyed this book. I give it four stars because the author seems rather condescending at places and he seems to have a vendeta towards Republicans.
